Member Benefits - Hole-in-One Recognition
It was once reported that the odds of hitting a hole in one are anywhere from
one in 20,000 to one in 30,000. In recognition of such an impressive feat,
the MGA launched a hole-in-one program in 2000 to recognize those individuals
who score a hole in one at an MGA Member Club facility.
As part of the hole-in-one program, the individual receives an official hole-in-one certificate, signed by MGA Executive Director Joseph J. Sprague, Jr., and his/her name is also posted on the hole-in-one page that we feature on the MGA web site.
Since there is no official system established for recording a hole in one, we rely on our individual members and member clubs to report these accomplishments to the MGA office. Here is a list of individuals who have scored a hole in one dating back to 2000.
As an added benefit to member golfers who score a hole in one, the United States Historical Society, a non-profit organization that works on behalf of museums, educational institutions, foundations, and other organizations, has created a program that allows golfers to purchase a personalized "Hole In One Society" Award plate. Each plate is created, crafted and engraved especially for the individual golfer. For more information on how to purchase a plate, visit the United States Historical Society's official web site at www.holeinonesociety.org.
