Member Benefits - Government Regulations
The MGA works closely with the Alliance of Massachusetts Golf Organizations
(AMGO) in order to monitor all state and national legislation that could affect
the operation of its member clubs.
For example, AMGO successfully spearheaded legislation which now provides equitable tax relief for open space recreational areas (Chapter 61-B), and in 2002, oversaw the passing of House Bill 4310, which allows 16 and 17 years old to drive a golf cart while working so long as the individual has been issued a license to operate motor vehicles.
AMGO also has legal representatives who follow all state legislation that would affect club interests.
