Clearinghouse
The MGA serves as a clearinghouse for all golf events scheduled in the state
of Massachusetts. To that end, the MGA publishes and distributes an Annual
Championship Calendar which assists member clubs in scheduling and coordinating
events of their own. This schedule includes all MGA, USGA, NEGA and major
Regional events.
In addition, the MGA conducts 10 State Championships annually. Every year thousands of Massachusetts golfers participate in our championship program which includes the following events:
• Amateur Championship
• Open Championship
• Junior Championship
• Mid-Amateur Championship
• Senior Championship
• Public Links Championship
• Four-Ball Championship
• Senior Four-Ball Championship
• Father & Son Championship
• Father & Daughter Championship
Approximately 34 qualifying rounds are conducted statewide as a prelude to the above championships. The MGA also conducts the qualifying rounds for the major USGA Championships, including the U.S. Open, Senior Open, Amateur, Junior Amateur, Senior Amateur, Mid-Amateur, and the Amateur Public Links. The strength and success of our Championship program is directly attributable to the support and cooperation of our member clubs for which the MGA is very appreciative.
