sample ForeKids Golf Program - The First Tee
In conjunction with the purchase of MGA Links at Mamantapett, the MGA agreed to partner with The First Tee, a national initiative of the World Golf Foundation to introduce the game of golf to at-risk, underprovided youth.

The partnership plans were unveiled at the MGA's Centennial of Massachusetts Golf Gala, which was held in March 2003 at The Fairmont Copley Plaza in downtown Boston. Joe Louis Barrow, Jr., executive director of The First Tee and senior vice president of the World Golf Foundation, was on hand that evening to help make the special announcement. As an official partner of The First Tee, the MGA will use its new junior education facility, MGA Links at Mamantapett, as the headquarters for all The First Tee programming throughout the summer months.

Since its inception in 1997, The First Tee has opened over 100 facilities and has introduced the game of golf to over 170,000 young people since 2000. The program's focus is to give young people of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop, through golf and character education, life-enhancing values such as honesty, integrity and sportsmanship. The World Golf Foundation, which is supported by each of the major international golf organizations and professional tours, oversees the World Golf Hall of Fame and other nonprofit components of World Golf Village near St. Augustine, FL.
