Junior Golf
ForeKids Golf Program
The MGA ForeKids Golf Clinics have been nationally recognized as one of golf's
most successful programs in introducing urban children to the game. The clinics
were first conducted back in 1993, by the MGA for Boston-area children. PGA
Tour star Tiger Woods initially conducted a one-day instructional clinic for
the children while he was here competing in the USGA Junior Amateur Championship
at Wollaston Golf Club. Due to the clinics overwhelming success, the MGA expanded
the clinic to a week-long experience.
Since 1994, the MGA has extended its reach to other cities including, Brockton,
Lowell, Maynard, Springfield and Worcester. Each week-long clinic provides
golf course facility access, lunch, junior sized equipment and expert instruction
from New England PGA and Connecticut Section PGA professionals - all at no
cost to the participants. Since the clinics' inception, over 20,000 children
have been introduced to the game of golf.
