Entries are open to amateur golfers who have reached their 25th birthday by September 25, 2017 and who have an active MGA/GHIN Handicap Index at any public, private, semi-private, municipal or non-real estate MGA member course/club not exceeding 5.4 (as determined by the July 15, 2017 Handicap Revision) or have completed their handicap certification.

WAGR Counting Event

The World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), which comprises a women's ranking and a men's ranking for elite amateur players, is offered by The R&A and the USGA as a global service to golf. WAGR is updated every Wednesday on and is available to national federations and organizers of amateur and professional events and tours for purposes of offering exemptions, selecting national teams and assembling Orders of Merit. WAGR currently incorporates over 4,000 events with over 10,000 players and endeavors to be the most comprehensive and accurate ranking in golf by effectively comparing players from around the world who may never directly compete against one another.

2016 Championship Highlights

What looked to be a one-man show turned into an old-school duel during the final round of the 2016 Massachusetts Mid-Amateur Championship, which was held this week at TGC. When all scorecards were signed and following a 54-hole battle, it was Matt Parziale (Thorny Lea GC) – the 2015 champion of this event – who prevailed for his second straight MGA Championship title.
