Eligibility

SENIOR DIVISION: Entries are open to any amateur Father and Son team (sons who are 18 or older as of August 15, 2016) who both hold a membership at an MGA member club and have an up-to-date combined MGA/USGA GHIN Handicap Index not exceeding 12.0 (as determined by the July 1, 2016 Handicap Revision) or have completed their handicap certification.

JUNIOR DIVISION: Entries are open to any amateur Father and Son team (sons who have reached their 14th birthday and will not reach their 18th birthday by August 16, 2016) who both hold a membership at an MGA member club and have an up- to-date combined MGA/USGA GHIN Handicap Index not exceeding 20.0 (as determined by the July 1, 2016 Handicap Revision) or have completed their handicap certification.

The field is limited to 90 teams. Fathers are permitted to compete in both the Junior & Senior Divisions with a different son. Entries will be on a first come, first served basis.

About the Father & Son

The best father and son pair in the state compete annually at this popular MGA event. The Father & Son Championship features father & son teams from MGA Member Clubs who compete in 18 holes at foursomes stroke play (selected drive - alternate shot). The event currently features a Junior Division (sons - ages 14 to 17) and Senior Division (sons - 18 & older).

2015 Championship Highlights

In the Senior Division, the team of Joe Walker (Dennis Pines GC) and Mike Walker (Dennis Pines GC) savored every moment of their senior division victory at the 2015 Massachusetts Father & Son Championship. The duo finished with a score of 2-under par 68 which was good enough for a one stroke victory over three teams. Read More

In the Junior Division, it was their last chance to win this title, and the team of Steve Tasho (Thorny Lea GC) and Steve Tasho (Thorny Lea GC) made sure it would be a memorable one. The Tasho duo posted a score of 3-under par 67 at Fall River Country Club to capture the junior division title at the 2015 Massachusetts Father & Son Championship.
