Entries are open to amateur golfers who have reached their 25th birthday by September 8, 2015, who hold membership at an MGA member club and have an up-to-date MGA/USGA GHIN Handicap Index not exceeding 5.4 (as determined by the July 1, 2015 Handicap Revision), or who have completed their handicap certification.

WAGR Counting Event

The World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), which comprises a women's ranking and a men's ranking for elite amateur players, is offered by The R&A and the USGA as a global service to golf. WAGR is updated every Wednesday on and is available to national federations and organizers of amateur and professional events and tours for purposes of offering exemptions, selecting national teams and assembling Orders of Merit. WAGR currently incorporates over 4,000 events with over 10,000 players and endeavors to be the most comprehensive and accurate ranking in golf by effectively comparing players from around the world who may never directly compete against one another.

2014 Championship Highlights

Under blue skies at Blue Hill Country Club, Herbie Aikens (Pinehills GC) capped off a sensational three days of golf by winning the 2014 Massachusetts Mid-Amateur Championship. It marks his second career and second straight MGA Championship victory. He posted an opening round of 5-under par 67 and - despite what he called a “sloppy” round on Tuesday - Aikens posted a 3-under par 67 which gave him a three-stroke cushion with just 18 holes remaining.
