Entries are open to amateur golfers from an MGA Member Club or full-time Massachusetts residents who have reached their 14th birthday and will not reach their 18th birthday by midnight July 27, 2015.

WAGR Counting Event

The World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), which comprises a women's ranking and a men's ranking for elite amateur players, is offered by The R&A and the USGA as a global service to golf. WAGR is updated every Wednesday on and is available to national federations and organizers of amateur and professional events and tours for purposes of offering exemptions, selecting national teams and assembling Orders of Merit. WAGR currently incorporates over 4,000 events with over 10,000 players and endeavors to be the most comprehensive and accurate ranking in golf by effectively comparing players from around the world who may never directly compete against one another.

AJGA Performance Based Entry

The Massachusetts Junior Amateur Championship is part of the AJGA's Performance Based Entry program, which enables 12-18-year-old members to earn their way into AJGA Open tournaments based on performances at the national, regional and state levels. The Massachusetts Junior champion will earn two exemptions into AJGA events, while the top 10 finishers will earn one exemption. For more information, please visit the AJGA's web site at

2014 Championship Highlights

Under perfect conditions at Nashawtuc Country Club, Matthew Naumec (CC of Wilbraham) captured the 2014 Massachusetts Junior Amateur Championship. It marked the first MGA Championship title for the 17 year old from Wilbraham and the 100th year of the prestigious MGA Championship. Andrew DiPetrillo (Blue Hill CC) won the Pre-Junior title, while Jack O'Donnell (The Kittansett Club) sank a 50-foot birdie putt on the first sudden-death hole to capture the Boys Division title.
