Championships: 2015 Father & Daughter Championship

| August 19 | Championship Division | Forward Division

LeBaron Hills CC

ENTRY CLOSE: Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.

Entries are open to any amateur Father and Daughter team who both hold a membership at an MGA member club. A father may only play one round, with one daughter, in the Championship. Entries will be on a first come, first served basis.

Division Overview

The MGA has implemented a Championship Division and Forward Division based solely on the course yardage. Teams can register for either one of the divisions regardless of a daughter's age. There is no handicap requirement for this event.

At LeBaron Hills Country Club, the fathers will play from the White tees (6,400 yds). The daughters in the Championship division will play from the GOLD tees (5,800 yds) and in the Forward division they will play from the BLACK tees (5,100 yds).

About the Father & Daughter

Open to any father and daughter team who are both members at an MGA Member Club. (The WGAM hosts the counterpart event every year - the Mother and Daughter Championship.) Competitors may select to compete in either the Championship Divison or Forward Division. The event features 18 holes at foursomes stroke play (selected drive - alternate shot).

2014 Championship Highlights

In the Championship Division, the team of John Mulcahy (Hatherly CC) and Mary Mulcahy (Hatherly CC) captured a divisional title at the Massachusetts Father & Daughter Championship for a fifth straight time. The Mulcahy duo carded a score of 6-over par 77 at Wellesley Country Club to claim the Championship Division title as their own.

In the Forward Division, Phil Smith (Vesper CC) and Molly Smith (Vesper CC) prevailed. The Smith duo claimed the top spot in dramatic fashion by making birdie on the 497-yard, par 5 18th hole to win by one stroke. They finished with a score of 11-over par 82. Read More
