Championships: Father & Son Championship

The best father and son pair in the state compete annually at this popular MGA event. The Father & Son Championship pits father & son teams from each MGA Member Clubs against each other in an 18-hole foursomes stroke play format.

Eligibility & Schedule

SENIOR Division
Entries are open to any amateur Father and Son team (sons who are 18 or older as of midnight August 3, 2010) who both hold a membership at an MGA member club and have an up-to-date combined MGA/USGA GHIN Handicap Index not exceeding 12.0 (as determined by the June 15, 2010 Handicap Revision) or have completed their handicap certification as defined on the Entry Form. The field is limited to 90 teams. Fathers are permitted to compete in the Junior & Senior Divisions with a different son. Entries will be on a first come, first served basis.

Schedule
Competition will be 18 Holes at Foursomes Stroke Play (selected drive-alternate shot). The field is limited to 90 teams.

Tuesday, August 3
18 Holes, Senior Division, 90 Teams
Any tie for first place will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off.

JUNIOR Division
Entries are open to any amateur Father and Son team (sons who have reached their 13th birthday and will not reach their 18th birthday by midnight August 4, 2010) who both hold a membership at an MGA member club and have an up-to-date combined MGA/USGA GHIN Handicap Index not exceeding 18.0 (as determined by the June 15, 2010 Handicap Revision) or have completed their handicap certification as defined on the Entry Form. The field is limited to 90 teams. Fathers are permitted to compete in the Junior & Senior Divisions with a different son. Entries will be on a first come, first served basis.
