The best father and son pair in the state compete annually at this popular MGA event. The Father & Son Championship pits father & son teams from each MGA Member Clubs against each other in an 18-hole foursomes stroke play format.
All junior team entrants and a select number of senior team entrants will be competing on August 4. The remaining teams from the senior division will compete on August 5. Any playoff required for the Junior Division will take place on August 4, while a senior division playoff (if necessary) will be held on August 5.
Entries are open to any amateur Father and Son team who both hold a membership at an MGA member club and have an up-to-date combined MGA/USGA GHIN Handicap Index not exceeding 15.0 (as determined by the June 24, 2009 Handicap Revision) or have completed their handicap certification as defined on the Entry Form.
The field is limited to 120 teams. A father may only play one round, with one son in the Championship. Entries will be on a first come, first served basis. Teams will be notified which day they will be competing after entries close.
