About the Four-Ball

Injecting a team element into an individualized sport, this event honors the best two-person teams of amateur golfers in the state. Since its inception in 1981, the event has celebrated some of the best amateur teams in the region and embraced the spirit of teamwork. Champions of the past have been brothers, friends and even father and son pairs.

2014 Championship Highlights

They took one year off, but the team of Alex Stimpson (Woods Hole GC) and James Kroeger (Acushnet River) can now once again call themselves Massachusetts Four-Ball Champions. Back in 2012, the good friends and co-workers at the Acushnet Company captured their first career title in what was their third attempt. They came up short in 2013, but they roared back into the winner's circle in 2014 thanks to a sensational final round score of 8-under par 64 at the Golf Club at Turner Hill. They finished with a two-round total of 12-under par 132. Read More
