Headline: MGA Links at Mamantapett Opens Its Doors to the Perkins School for the Blind

Norton, MA – In what has become a special annual event, MGA Links at Mamantapett - the MGA's junior golf facility located in Norton - opened its doors to the Perkins School for the Blind last week.

The teaching staff at MGA Links at Mamantapett welcomed the students to the 18-hole, par 3 facility. The day's events included a tour of the facility, golf instruction and lunch. This year marks the sixth year that the Perkins School for the Blind has taken part in a golf clinic at the MGA Links facility in Norton. Last year, a similar number of youth participated in the one-day clinic, which proved to be a highlight for both the students and MGA Links professional staff.

Since its opening in 2003, MGA Links at Mamantapett has become one of the premier daily-fee and junior development facilities in the region. This permanent golf education center serves as headquarters for The First Tee of Massachusetts and provides access for many youth-based community programs run by the local Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCAs, among others.

During the summer of 2007, more than 400 youth from 25 different communities participated in a seven week golf and life skills development program at the facility. As part of the curriculum, the children progressed through a series of golf lessons where they were introduced to the different aspects of a golf course including the green, tee, fairway, rough, bunkers and water hazards.

About MGA Links at Mamantapett:

The 29-acre, 18-hole, par-3 facility features a 2,248 yard course with a design of holes that hold youthful interest yet also challenges the more discriminating golfer. In addition to competitive membership and daily greens fee packages, the facility offers a full compliment of league and instructional opportunities throughout the season.
