Headline: Four Advance at U.S. Senior Amateur Qualifying Held GC of New England

Stratham, MA – Four golfers have earned the right to compete at the U.S. Senior Amateur Championship, which will be held on September 16-21 at Victoria National Golf Club in Newburgh, Indiana, as a result of their performance at today’s qualifying round at Golf Club of New England.

Finishing in first place with a medalist score of 1-under par 71 was Taylor Metcalfe (Glendale, OH). Metcalfe, the only player to post a sub-par score today in Stratham, made the turn at 2-under par 34 and held on for medalist honors despite a 1-over par 37 on the back nine.

Two shots back of Metcalfe with scores of 1-over par 73 were local golfers Joseph Keller (Osterville, MA) and Dave Houghton (Orleans, MA). Capturing the final qualifying spot was three-time George M. Cohen MGA Senior Player of the Year Jim Ruschioni (Leominster, MA), who fired a 3-over par 75.
