The MGA is hoping that you can help us with this important fundraising endeavor. Many of the junior and adult education programs that our organization runs at our facility in Norton, MGA Links, as well as at various Boys & Girls Clubs and community centers across the state are made possible due to the incredible community support that we receive from various organizations.
This year, we have been given a great opportunity to take part in the Birdies for Charity program. All money raised will go directly to The First Tee and MGA Links junior programming. The Championship takes place at the Tournament Players Club of Boston in Norton, Massachusetts over Labor Day Weekend with PGA Tour pros such as Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh in the draw.
The First Tee of Massachusetts annually serves over 1,500 children in its focus to give young people of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop, through golf and character education, life-enhancing values such as honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship. Headquarters for The First Tee of Massachusetts is located at MGA Links at Mamantapett, an 18-hole par-3 facility located in Norton, Massachusetts. At MGA Links, not only do junior members get the chance to take part in The First Tee program, but we are proud to offer the program to nearly two dozen local youth agencies (Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCA’s, etc.) in hopes of not only creating better golfers, but also better people who can succeed both on and off the golf course.
The success of our program in Norton has since allowed The First Tee of Massachusetts to expand its offerings to sites in Springfield (Fenway Golf Range) and Lynnfield (Reedy Meadow Golf Course). Participants in programs offered by The First Tee of Massachusetts receive instruction in all aspects of the game of golf including putting, chipping, full swing, rules, etiquette, and life-skills. We are proud to offer this program to children at each of these fine facilities, and we will continue our efforts of statewide expansion in the years to come.
Thank you for your support and we hope you win the Birdies for Charities contest. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the MGA at 774- 430-9100.
