Headline: Massachusetts Senior Four-Ball Championship Postponed Until Fall of 2006

Norton, MA – With only days remaining before the scheduled playing of the 2006 Massachusetts Senior Four-Ball Championship at Spring Valley Country Club, the MGA today announced that the event has been postponed. Competitors and media members are advised not to report to Spring Valley Country Club on August 8-9.

Over the course of the summer, Spring Valley Country Club has been integrating a series of irrigation system improvements. The MGA was optimistic that the improvements would be in place in time for the playing of the Massachusetts Senior Four-Ball Championship. Following a recent meeting between MGA Officials and the Spring Valley Country Club staff, however, it was determined that the course is not ready for championship-caliber play and that it was in the best interest of the facility, the MGA and all of the competitors to not hold the event next week.

The MGA is currently looking to re-schedule the event later this fall. Despite the disappointing news, the MGA is happy to report that Spring Valley Country Club has agreed to host the 2007 Massachusetts Senior Four-Ball Championship. The MGA looks forward to returning to the course in 2007 and enjoying the wonderful conditions that will no doubt be enhanced by the irrigation improvements currently underway at the course.

The MGA apologizes for the inconvenience, but all decisions made are in the best interest of the host site and competitors. It is the organization's goal to make every MGA Championship an enjoyable experience for all.

Competitors are asked to contact Owen O'Malley at 774-430-9100 with any questions.
