Headline: U.S. Amateur Qualifying Starting Times Revised at Stockbridge GC Site
Norton, MA – In order to ensure that a complete 36-hole U.S. Amateur qualifying round can be completed, the MGA today announced that there have been revisions made to the starting times for the Stockbridge Golf Club site.
Competitors will now be starting off the 1st and 10th tees. All individuals originally scheduled to tee off on the 1st tee from 9:10 a.m. on will now be teeing off beginning at 7:30 a.m. off the 10th tee.
Starting times for the other two qualifying sites - New England Country Club and Atkinson Country Club - will remain the same as originally posted.
About the Championship:
The U.S. Amateur, the oldest USGA championship, was first played in 1895 at Newport Golf Club in Rhode Island. The event, which has no age restriction, is open to those with a Handicap Index of 2.4 or lower. It is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the USGA, 10 of which are strictly for amateurs.
