Headline: Peter Uihlein Advances to Round of 32 at U.S. Junior Amateur Championship

Longmeadow, MA– Peter Uihlein (Bradenton, FL), a standout young golfer from Western Massachusetts who captured the Massachusetts Junior Championship Boys division multiple times, is one step closer to his goal of capturing the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship title as he advanced to the Round of 32 of Match Play at Longmeadow Country Club in Longmeadow, Massachusetts.

Uihlein, who is now based out of Bradenton, Florida, defeated Hunter Hamrick (Montgomery, AL) by a score of 2 & 1. Uihlein took his first lead of the match on the 315-yard, par 4 5th hole and never looked back. He closed out the match by making par on the 426-yard, par 4 17th hole.

Uihlein will next face Cody Paladino (Kensington, CT), another New England golf product, in the Round of 32. That match is scheduled to begin at 9:45 a.m. Uihlein, whose family lives in North Dartmouth, posted rounds of 72-73 to get into the draw.
