Headline: Andrew Congdon Claims Medalist Honors at State Amateur Championship Qualifying

Worthington, MA – Andrew Congdon (Wyantenuck CC) was the only player to break par at Worthington Golf Club this afternoon as he led a field of four qualifiers at Day 3 of Massachusetts Amateur Championship qualifying. Championship Proper for this event will be held on July 11-15 at Essex County Club.

Congdon fired a day-low round of 2-under par 68, which featured a 2-under par 33 front nine. Congdon edged Tim P. Tunstall (Worthington GC), Allen Parker (The Blandford Club) and T.P. Tunstall (Elmcrest CC), who all finished at even par 70 to capture the final three qualifying spots.

Additional qualifying rounds will be held tomorrow, June 9, as well as on June 13, 15 and16 at the following sites: June 9 – Far Corner GC; June 13 – Wampatuck CC; June 15 – Indian Ridge CC; June 16 – Maplegate CC, Whitinsville GC.
