Headline: Starting Times & Pairings Released for 2004 Massachusetts Senior Championship

Norton, MA – The 2004 Massachusetts Senior Championship will be contested next week at Sankaty Head Golf Club in Siasconset, Massachusetts. The Championship will take place on September 30 – October 1. As a prelude to the event, the Massachusetts Golf Association (MGA) today released starting times and pairings for the first day of the event.

Defending champion James Drohen (Crystal Springs GC) will be looking to claim the title for a second year in a row. Drohen, father of MGA champions Andy and Bill Drohen, posted a final score of 2-over par 146 last year at Brae Burn Country Club for a three-stroke victory over Jim Ruschioni (Oak Hill CC). Drohen’s victory capped off what has become known as the “year of the Drohens.” Prior to James’ victory at Brae Burn Country Club, Andy captured the Massachusetts Amateur Championship and Bill advanced to the match play portion of the U.S. Amateur Championship.

This year’s Massachusetts Senior Championship field will compete in 18 holes of stroke play on Thursday and Friday. The field will tee off on both the 1st and 10th tees. The first tee time of the day is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. Following the first round of play, the field will be repaired according to score.
