Headline: Massachusetts Golf Museum Debuts New Photographic Exhibit in Norton

Norton, MA – In celebration of its Centennial book, "A Commonwealth of Golfers", the Massachusetts Golf Association opened a new photographic exhibit in the halls of the Massachusetts Golf Museum.

Located in Norton, the Massachusetts Golf Museum opened its doors to public last year and pays tribute to the people and moments — both past and present — that have created our state's rich golf heritage. It features interactive kiosks, multimedia quizzes, a replica of the Francis Ouimet Library, Hall of Trophies and a video tribute to the game of golf in Massachusetts. The Golf Museum is open to the public year-round and features complimentary admission.

In addition to its permanent displays, the Museum also features a series of traveling exhibits from outside collectors and organizations. Just last year, the United States Golf Association loaned the Massachusetts Golf Museum its U.S. Presidential exhibit which remained on display for several months. That particular exhibit showed how U.S. presidents dating back to the early days loved the game of golf and thus made it a fabric of life in the White House and beyond.

The pictures in this new photographic exhibit were taken by Michael Carroll, whose work has appeared regularly in People, Business Week, Golf and Travel, Reader’s Digest Magazine, Yankee and many other magazines and newspapers. Carroll worked closely with project editor Laurence Sheehan on the project. Sheehan is a former managing editor of Golf Digest and the author of numerous books on golf and many other subjects. The pair traveled to more than fifty golf courses in the state to in an attempt to identify and fairly represent the surprising diversity of the golf terrain in Massachusetts, from links courses on the Cape, to parkland courses in the urban orbit of Boston, Worcester, and Springfield, to the elevated courses of the Berkshires.
