Headline: 8th Massachusetts Senior Four-Ball Set to Begin at Marshfield Country Club
Norton, MA – The 2004 Massachusetts Senior Four-Ball Championship will be contested next week at Marshfield Country Club in Marshfield, Massachusetts. The Championship will take place on August 9-10. As a prelude to the event, the MGA today released starting times and pairings for the first day of the event.
Defending champions Jim Ruschioni (Oak Hill CC) and Paul Nunez, Jr. (Longmeadow CC) will be looking to claim the title for a second year in a row. The duo finished at 6-under par 120 at Worcester Country Club to sneak past the second-place team of Norm Zanetti (Pocasset GC) and Larry Baker (Pleasant Valley CC). Last year’s championship represented the first time that Ruschioni and Nunez were eligible for this event as they both turned 55 years old earlier that year.
This year’s field will compete in 18 holes at Four-Ball Stroke Play on Monday and Tuesday. The field will tee off on both the 1st and 10th tees. The first tee time of the day is scheduled for 7:00 a.m.

A Look Back at the 2003 Championship:
Although the celebration came one day later than planned, the team of Jim
Ruschioni (Oak Hill CC) and Paul Nunez, Jr. (Longmeadow CC) captured the 7th
Massachusetts Senior Four-Ball Championship at Worcester Country Club. The
two-day event was extended an extra day after severe rain and lightening storms
caused the suspension of play on Day 2. The delay didn't deter the team of
Ruschioni and Nunez as the pair finished at 6-under par 120 to sneak past
the second-place team of Norm Zanetti (Pocasset GC) and Larry Baker (Pleasant
Valley CC). Just two strokes back of the leaders were the teams of Thomas
Martin (Woodland GC) and James Logue (Salem CC) and James Kehoe (Ferncroft
CC) and Chuck Costello (Ferncroft CC), who finished at 4-under par 122. Martin
and Logue captured a share of third place courtesy of a second round low score
of 5-under par 58.
