Headline: Seung-Su Han and Jon Curran Advance to U.S. Junior Amateur Championship

North Dartmouth, MA – Seung-Su Han (Bradenton, FL) and local junior standout Jon Curran (Hopkinton, MA) pieced together two solid rounds of golf this afternoon at Allendale Country Club and earned a spot at next month’s U.S. Junior Amateur Championship. The two players competed against a field of junior golfers all of whom were vying for the two precious sectional qualifying spots.

Han was the only player who finished under par on the day as he turned in a 36-hole total of 1-under par 143. Curran, who is coming off a Top 10 performance at last weekend’s Northeast Amateur Invitational, was just two shots back of Han with a score of 1-over par 145. Two other local golfers – Nicholas Moseley (Wenham, MA) and Peter Uihlein (Dartmouth, MA) – claimed second and third alternate spots, respectively.

A first day of U.S. Junior Amateur sectional qualifying was held at Country Club of Greenfield on Monday. Matthew Scytkowski (South Hadley, MA) was the lone qualifier from that site. The 2004 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship will take place on July 19-24 at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, CA.

About the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship:
