Hingham, MA – Scott Trethewey (The Milton-Hoosic Club) not only shot an impressive 2-under par 69 this afternoon to capture medalist honors during the second day of Massachusetts Open qualifying, he also notched his first-ever hole in one. Trethewey was one of 20 qualifiers who today earned a spot at the Massachusetts Open Championship, which will be held on June 21-23 at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Sutton, Massachusetts.

Finishing two strokes back of Trethewey at even par 71 was Adam Williamson (Peru, ME), while Doug Clapp (Walpole CC) turned in a score of 2-over par 73 which was tops for all amateur players in the field. Other local amateurs advancing to the Championship were Steven Tasho (Thorny Lea GC), Bruce Chalas (Pinecrest GC), Jeffrey Stewart (Marshfield CC), Alex Snickenberger (Wellesley CC) and Steve Maskell (Winchester CC).
