John Bracken III (West Hartford, CT) posted an even par 71 to capture medalist honors at U.S. Senior Amateur Qualifying, which was held today at The Orchards GC. The local qualifying round was a prelude to the Championship event scheduled for September 6-11 at The Virginian GC in Bristol, VA.

In total, four out of the six total qualifiers hailed from Massachusetts. Thomas Mahony (Newton, MA) was the top local qualifier, finishing one stroke behind Bracken at 1-over par 72. Also advancing to the Championship were Fan Gaudette (South Hadley, MA) and Robert Evans (Franklin, MA), with scores of 3-over par 74 and 3-over par 75, respectively.
