The MGA today released pairings and tee times for U.S. Open Local Qualifying. A total of 143 golfers will compete in qualifying at Shaker Hills Golf Club and the TPC of Boston on May 13 and May 19, respectively, in hopes of advancing to the U.S. Open Championship, scheduled to take place on June 12-15 at Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, IL. The players will compete in 18 holes of stroke play at each site.

The schedule for U.S. Open Local Qualifying is as follows:

• May 13, 2003 - Shaker Hills Golf Club (Harvard, MA) - 41 Competitors
• May 19, 2003 - TPC of Boston (Norton, MA) - 102 Competitors

Over the next few weeks, local qualifying for the U.S. Open Championship will be held at more than 100 sites across the country. From the more than 7,000 golfers making the attempt to qualify, approximately 750 will advance to sectional qualifying. The qualifiers from each local site will earn a berth into Sectional Qualifying, which will take place over 36 holes and will be held at 12 sites on June 2-3, 2003.

The MGA annually conducts qualifying rounds for the major United States Golf Association (USGA) Championships, including the U.S. Open, Senior Open, Amateur, Junior Amateur, Senior Amateur, Mid-Amateur and the Amateur Public Links.
