After three days of qualifying at 11 sites across the state, the field for the 94th Massachusetts Amateur Championship is now set. The final 24 qualifiers advanced following the third and final day of qualifying today at Dedham C&PC and Whitinsville GC.

The Massachusetts Amateur Championship will take place on July 8-12 at Winchester CC in Winchester, Massachusetts.

At Dedham C&PC it was the Adam Carlucci (Maplewood GC) story. The standout collegiate player from Johnson & Wales (FL) shot 2-under par 68 to capture medalist honors by a three-stroke margin. Brian O'Leary (Ponkapoag GC), Richie Quincy (Dedham C&PC) and Frank Remmes (Sharon CC) finished in a three-way tie for second place at 1-over par 71.

The top spot at Whitinsville GC came down to a battle of Highland CC members. In the end, Bobby Beach (Highland CC) edged Robert Bouley (Highland CC) by one stroke, capturing medalist honors with a score of 2-under par 68. Four players - Thomas Liberatore (Hopedale CC), Paul Couture (Pleasant Valley CC), Ken Simone (Whitinsville GC) and Daniel Falcucci (Cyprian Keyes GC) - finished in a tie for third place at 1-over par 71. Tom McDavitt (Oak Hill CC) was the final qualifier from that site.

Day 3 Qualifying Notes:
Medalists from the first two days of qualifying include: and Dean Burpee (Charles River CC), Daniel Engstrom (Cherry Hill GC), Ken Gys (Mount Pleasant GC), Daniel Head (Wellesley CC), Michael Pagano (Tatnuck CC), David Savage, Jr. (Lexington GC), Christopher Tetler (Squirrel Run G&CC), Scott Nickerson (CC of New Seabury) and Kenneth Whalley (Meadow Brook GC).
• The Massachusetts Amateur Championship is the most subscribed event on the MGA schedule. A total of 752 applications, including 17 exemptions, were received for this year's Championship event. A total of 127 qualifying spots were claimed this week at qualifying.
• A total of 144 golfers will compete at the Championship, which will be held at Winchester CC on July 8-12.
