What started as a field of 186 golfers is now set at six. A total of 42 local qualifiers (see results summary above) competed on Thursday at the U.S. Amateur Public Links Sectional Qualifying. Six golfers, including top qualifier Thomas Giles (Stow, MA), have now earned the right to compete at the U.S. Public Links Championship at Pecan Valley GC (San Antonio, TX) on July 9-14.

This year's local qualifying field was the largest reported in the country and required two sites -- Gardner Municipal GC and Quashnet Valley CC -- for competition.
