The MGA recently added a new site to its growing stable of MGA ForeKids Programs throughout the state.

Beginning this past Spring, youths at the Salem Boys & Girls Club have had access to a designated 'golf room', the first of its kind in the country. The MGA assisted the club in purchasing an indoor two-bay hitting net, two Astroturf mats, putting green and five sets of junior-sized equipment. The MGA has also recently helped members build an indoor putting green (see photo).

Youths participating in the program - expected to number 20-30 this year - haved helped decorate and maintain the room. Tedesco CC head professional, Bob Green and his staff, Kernwood CC's professional staff -- Craig Pitman, Roger King, Mike Santangelo and Steve Sheridan -- and the Bishop Fenwick High School golf team, have all generously agreed to assist with year-round instruction which will include several trips to local driving ranges as well as a field day at Salem Municipal GC.

MGA ForeKids also adminsters programs with Boys & Girls Club chapters in New Bedford, Fall River, Chelsea, Maynard, Pittsfield and Boston (four clubs), with the goal of establishing partnerships with each of the state's 39 chapters
