News Release
For Immediate Release: February 27, 2001
The Massachusetts Golf Association today announced that on-line
registration is now available for the 2001 Four-Ball Championship, the first
of 12 events sponsored by the MGA.
Entries for the Four-Ball Championship, which will take place at Stow Acres Country Club on May 14-15, 2001, will be accepted until April 5, 2001. Participation in this year's Four-Ball Championship is open to two-person teams of amateur golfers who hold membership in an MGA member club and have an up-to-date combined MGA/USGA GHIN Handicap Index not exceeding 9.8 (as determined by the October 27, 2000 Handicap Revision) or have completed their handicap certification as defined on the Entry Form. Due to the high number of requests for on-line applications, participants are encouraged to register on-line for the Four-Ball Championship.
"Each year we try to make the process easier for all of the participants, and on-line registration was the logical next step," said Kevin Patterson, Director of Rules and Competition. "Anyone who has access to the Internet will be able to submit their registration forms within minutes. Although paper applications are still available upon request, the on-line registration component will save time and money for all involved in the process."
For complete registration instructions and policies, please check out the official MGA Championships page. Registration forms for additional MGA Championship events will be posted in the coming weeks. Be sure to check back at the MGA homepage for up-to-date announcements.
