Check back regularly to this link as we will be posting the latest news regarding this project. In the meanwhile, here is sneak peak at what's being built in your home state.

Massachusetts Golf House

The Massachusetts Golf House will bring together 11 state-based golf organizations and serve as a true "home for golf." Supported by a 4-acre donation of land by the TPC Boston partnership, the Golf House will be located on the grounds of the new TPC Boston golf facility in Norton, MA. In addition to the decreased annual expenses necessary to operate and manage the new building, each organization will enjoy substantial cost savings as a result of the shared workspace.

The development of a permanent Golf House will enable the Massachusetts-based golf organizations to unite under one roof and enhance their communication, coordination and collaboration efforts in support of the game. It will also allow the MGA to build equity position and reallocate funds saved to subsidize important educational and outreach programs. The arrangement will surely provide a strong foundation for the health and vitality of golf throughout the next century.

Golf Museum, Library & Hall of Fame

In honor of the rich tradition of golf in Massachusetts and the individuals who have shaped the game over the past century, the MGA will construct a Golf Museum, Library and Hall of Fame on the first floor of the Massachusetts Golf House.

This facility will serve as the sole forum to honor local heroes and events that have made indelible marks on the game of golf and preserve their legacy for years to come. The Golf Museum, Library and Hall of Fame will take visitors, both old and young, on a journey back in time to understand and appreciate the contributions made by such local legends as Francis Ouimet, Donald Ross, Pat Bradley and Fred Corcoran. Only in this setting will the rich golf heritage of Massachusetts be properly preserved for generations to come.

MGA Permanent Golf Education Center

The MGA is also taking an aggressive step to better serve the youth of this state through the development of a Permanent Golf Education Center. This facility will feature a 9-hole short golf course, oversized putting green, modified driving range and a short game skills area for chipping and bunker play. Each hole on the course will be named for one of the many great virtues of golf such as Honesty, Respect, Perseverance, Self-discipline, Trust, Responsibility, Judgment and Integrity. A small clubhouse will host various educational programs as well.

As the youngsters play the course, their instructors will discuss how these values translate into life lessons and how life lessons translate back to the course. The program will focus on the youth's skills and sportsmanship and teach them a new respect for the environment. The course will be designed to reward children for thinking strategically. Unlike a regular golf course, this facility will be a teaching ground where the children will learn the skills of golf, but more importantly, they will learn about themselves.

Establishing a Permanent Golf Education Center, supported programmatically with educational initiatives, will support the growth of the ForeKids program, serve as a holistic educational forum to teach the values and virtues of golf and introduce relevant social programs for the children's benefit such as D.A.R.E., Teenage Pregnancy, etc. It will also allow the MGA to extend its partnerships with various youth agencies such as the 39 statewide Boys & Girls Clubs, area YMCAs and the Special Olympics of Massachusetts by serving as their golf education facility. The MGA Education Center will also work closely with organizations such as the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA), Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA), U.S. Sport & Fitness Center for the Disabled and the Walking Impaired Golfers' Association to provide instructional programs for the golf community at large.

The site chosen by the MGA is a 30-acre parcel of land owned by Crossroads for Kids in Duxbury, Mass. Crossroads for Kids, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, works with over 1,000 Greater Boston children who are at risk for developing youth-related problems. This organization is dedicated to inspiring these children to reach their highest potential through innovative educational and recreational programs at its Camp Wing facility, located 45 miles south of Boston.

The partnership between the MGA and Crossroads for Kids and the development of a Permanent Golf Education Center on the grounds of Camp Wing will add another dimension to the education and emotional growth of these children. It is a facility that will not only provide for children hailing from both programs, it will also open its doors to neighboring community and youth groups to allow for a maximum number of children to enjoy the benefits of the facility.
