Headline: Shewsbury's Altomare is Moving Up the LPGA Money List; Finished T3 at the Cambia Portland Classic This Past Weekend

For Immediate Release: September 5, 2017

Brittany Altomare moved up to 54th place on the LPGA Money List.

Norton, MA — Stacy Lewis may have captured the Cambia Portland Classic held this past weekend, but a local star posted an impressive finish and made an important move.

Brittany Altomare, a native of Shrewsbury, finished the event with a four-round score of 14-under par 274 to finish T3 and – perhaps most importantly – earn $77,045.00 which catapults her into the top 55 on the LPGA Money List. She currently stands in 54th place with a current season total earnings of $238,771.

On the final day of play at the Cambia Portland Classic in Portland, Oregon, Altomare shot a 3-under-par 69 to notch what was her best ever LPGA Tour result. Her previous best finish was T11 at the 2016 LPGA Volvik Championship.

After competing on the Symetra Tour for four seasons – which included one win at the 2016 Guardian Retirement Championship at Sara Bay – Altomare earned her LPGA Tour card in 2017.

On the LPGA Tour, a player must finish inside the top 80 on the money list to earn status in the top priority category for the following season. The higher up a player finishes on the money list, the better a chance they have of getting into every LPGA event they choose.

After the top 80 on the money list, the priority ranking then goes to the top 20 players on the all-time money list, then major winners, then tournament winners in the prior two seasons.

Five spots ahead of Altomare on the LPGA Money List is another Bay State native – Megan Khang – who has collected a total of $248,427 thus far this season.

Khang, who recently made a special visit back to her hometown of Brockton to give a helping hand at a The First Tee of Massachusetts golf clinic, was T9 at the Cambia Portland Classic and earned a total of $25,818.00.
