Norton, MA — The MGA is pleased to announce the addition of Laura Nochta to the newly created position of Manager of NEGA (New England Golf Association) Operations & USGA Qualifying. The announcement was made official by MGA Executive Director Jesse Menachem in early January with Nochta set to begin work in early February.

“We are thrilled to announce the addition of Laura Nochta to the staff ahead of the 2017 golf season” said Menachem. “In her time working for multiple golf organizations and associations, Laura has significant experience in all facets of golf administration, and has demonstrated the ability to work in a fast-paced environment across several platforms. That experience will be crucial as amateur golf continues to grow in the Bay State - and across New England - and we are thrilled to have her as a member of our team.”

Nochta, a former collegiate golfer at Indiana University and graduate of IU’s Kelley School of Business, has served as the Director of Women’s Golf for the Arkansas Golf Association (AGA) for the past three years. The Ohio native had also previously competed on the LPGA Symetra Tour and has long been involved in the game of golf as both a player and administrator.

As the Director of Women’s Golf for the AGA, Laura has been responsible for event and tournament operations, while also assisting heavily in the customer/member service and communication efforts of the association.

In her new position with the MGA and NEGA, Nochta will have similar responsibilities in working closely with longtime New England Golf Association Executive Secretary/Treasurer Harry McCracken in the operations of the three annual NEGA Championships, their respective qualifiers and additional meetings/events on the Association’s schedule.

Nochta will also be responsible for the operation and oversight of local and sectional USGA qualifiers scheduled to take place at MGA Member Clubs. She will engage with host club personnel, as well as the MGA and NEGA volunteers to conduct first-class competitions for competitors throughout the region.
