The Skills Challenge will begin at 1:30 p.m. at MGA Links and instructors will lead the participants through stations that focus on such skills as driving, putting and chipping.

Throughout the experience, the participants are reminded about The First Tee Nine Core Values - honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy and judgment.

Approximately 90 minutes later, the children will gather and enjoy an exhibition by a member of the PGA Tour who is part of the 2016 Deutsche Bank Championship field. Past featured PGA Tour guests include: Shawn Stefani, Freddie Jacobson, Erik Compton and Ken Duke.

“It is fun to watch the kids interact with the PGA TOUR players,” said Joe McCabe, executive director of The First Tee of Massachusetts. “All of the PGA Tour players have been wonderful with the children and have helped to make a memorable experience for them.”

The MGA Links Skills Challenge & PGA TOUR Player Exhibition is open to families and kids of all ages and abilities, so McCabe encourages everyone to swing by MGA Links in Norton on August 31st.

“It is a special opportunity,” said McCabe. “We hope to give this experience to as many young children as possible.”

Since its inception, the Deutsche Bank Championship has been a leader in giving back to the community and has generated more than $26 million for the Tiger Woods Foundation and local New England-area charities such as The First Tee of Massachusetts.

The 2016 Deutsche Bank Championship is the second event of the FedExCup Playoffs and features the top 100 PGA TOUR professionals. This year’s event will be held from September 1st through September 5th.
