Norton, MA — Punxsutawney Phil may have seen his shadow to indicate six more weeks of winter, but the MGA is doing its best to conjure up thoughts of warmer days ahead.

"We are very excited that another MGA Championship Season is right around the corner," said Jesse Menachem, the MGA's Director of Rules & Competitions. 2012 Championship Quick Links

The 2012 season will kick-off with the season's first event – the Massachusetts Four-Ball Championship – on May 7-8 at Stow Acres Country Club. This marks the first time since 2004 and the 10th time overall that the 36-hole Stow course will serve as host of this popular team event, which annually draws 200, two-person teams.

Following the Massachusetts Four-Ball Championship, a field of the region’s top amateurs and professionals will take to Walpole Country Club to battle for the title of Massachusetts Open Champion.

Another highlight of the season will be the playing of the Massachusetts Amateur Championship at Tedesco Country Club, which recently completed construction on a new clubhouse. This will mark the fourth time that the club has hosted the Massachusetts Amateur Championship as it played host to historic victories by Ted Adams (1939), Pat Granese (1960) and James Hallet (1982).

In total, more than 40 MGA Member Clubs will open their doors to championship and qualifying events held for MGA, USGA or MGA Member Days throughout the season.
