Dedham, MA Heavy rain began falling this afternoon in Dedham and forced the suspension of play at the 2010 Massachusetts Mid-Amateur Championship at 4:05 p.m.
Due to the condition of the course and the forecast for the rest of the day, tournament officials made the decision to suspend play until Wednesday morning.
Just under half of the 120-player field was still on the course when the horn went off at Dedham Country & Polo Club.
Those players who did not finish their second round of play will return to Dedham on Wednesday to complete the second round of play beginning at 8:30 a.m. (players must check in at 7:45 a.m.)
Following the conclusion of the second round on Wednesday, the field will be reduced to the low 30 scorers and ties. Only those players will take part in a third and final round, weather permitting.
