Headline: Two More MGA Member Days Events Added to 2010 Schedule; Twin Hills Country Club (9/20) and Ledgemont Country Club (10/5) to Host

For Immediate Release: August 31, 2010

Twin Hills Country Club will host an MGA Member Day event on Monday, September 20. Online registration is now available.

Norton, MA — Following the overwhelming success of the first two events, the MGA announced that it has added two more MGA Member Days events for the 2010 season.

Male and female golfers of any age and skill level are encouraged to register today for these 18-hole Stableford (net) events, which will be held on Monday, September 20th at Twin Hills Country Club and Tuesday, October 5th at Ledgemont Country Club.

Launched earlier this spring, the MGA Member Days program was created in order to provide all MGA Member Golfers who hold an up-to-date MGA/USGA GHIN Handicap Index with an opportunity to take part in an MGA-sponsored event. While some partcipants reveled in the competition and tournament-like atmosphere, most participants simply enjoyed the experience of playing alongside friends, both new and old.

"This is my first time ever playing in an MGA event," said Michael Walsh (Far Corner GC) following the MGA Member Day held at Foxborough Country Club in June. "This was a great idea. It promotes the game of golf and it made me get out and play with different people. I didn't know anyone coming into this event, but I met three great guys."

As a result of experiences like that of Michael Walsh, MGA Executive Director Joe Sprague reached out to Twin Hills Country Club and Ledgemont Country Club.

"The addition of the two events will cap off the season nicely," said Sprague, who was on site at the first events held in Foxborough and at Crestwood Country Club. "The response from participants was rewarding and encouraging, so we wanted to make sure we opened the door of opportunity for even more players before the season's end."

The entry fee for both events is $60 and that includes golf, cart, range balls and an MGA logo tee gift.

"We have been looking to introduce these types of affordable events to the golfing public for quite some time," said Sprague. "These golfers will have an opportunity to experience an MGA event in a relaxed, fun environment. There is no question that this is a stepping stone for an expanded schedule of events in 2011."
