Headline: MGA Member Days Receiving Praise and Interest From Players and Media Alike... Reserve Your Spot Today Before It's Too Late
For Immediate Release: April 26, 2010
Norton, MA — Word is certainly getting around that the MGA will be hosting an inaugural series of MGA Member Days!
Just weeks after the official announcement was made, golfers have been signing up and reserving their spot for this new series of events which allows golfers who hold an MGA/USGA GHIN Handicap Index — male or female — to compete in an 18-hole Stableford (net) event.
This past week, golf writer Bob DiCesare featured the MGA Member Days as part of his weekly Monday column in the Enterprise News.
Below is an excerpt from the column, which can be viewed online at www.enterprisenews.com.
... The MGA's version of providing better access for golfers of any skill level is a series of events called Member Days. Golfers who hold an MGA/USGA handicap index can compete in a stableford scoring format, starting May 25 at Crestwood CC in Rehoboth and June 2 at Foxborough CC. The entry fee is $60 and includes greens fee, cart, range balls and an MGA logo tee gift.
“We have been looking forward to introducing these types of affordable events to the golfing public,” said Joe Sprague, MGA executive director. “Whether you are a 10- or a 30-handicap player, I guarantee that the Member Days will be an enjoyable experience for all. This is a stepping stone for even more such events in the future.”
