Headline: Mark the Date ... The MGA Invites the Golfing Public to the 2010 Rules of Golf Seminar at Charter Oak Country Club on Saturday, March 27

Norton, MA — For the first time in recent memory, the Bay State golf community
will be able to enjoy an inside look at the Rules of Golf!

Each year, the United States Golf Association administers Rules of Golf seminars at sites located across the country. These intensive seminars are
held over a period of several days and are aimed at educating individuals – specifically rules officials and club personnel – on the Rules of Golf and Decisions.

This year, the MGA is bringing that same type of experience to Massachusetts by holding a one-day MGA Rules of Golf Seminar on Saturday, March 27 at Charter Oak Country Club. This seminar will be led by renowned Rules of Golf expert – David Hayes – who is a seven-year veteran of the USGA Rules and Competitions Department.

Hayes will discuss the basic rules procedures and cover several of the new Rules of Golf related issues that have been introduced over the past year.

The cost per attendee is $30 and includes a light breakfast and buffet luncheon. Club personnel may also be eligible to receive continuing education points for their participation.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
David Hayes, worked in the USGA Rules & Competitions Department for nearly seven years before moving back to Massachusetts in 2009.  During his tenure at the USGA, he was involved in handling rules inquiries, teaching rules workshops, officiating in championships and writing the Rules of Golf through his work with the USGA and Joint Rules of Golf Committees.  He is looking forward to being a Massachusetts Golf Association volunteer in 2010.  David writes about the Rules at his website (currently under construction): http://rulesgeek.com.
